Overview
Welcome to the Tiger Team, a purpose-driven NFT art project that celebrates and promotes diversity in the emerging Crypto world.
Born in the Year of the Tiger, Tiger Team’s mission is to increase creative opportunities in the world by empowering others to make great art, support diverse creators, do more good, and have fun.
Being a Tiger Team member means embodying the spirit of boldness, effective charity, and meaningful innovation.
What’s a Tiger Team?
A “Tiger Team” is a small, select team of experts with diverse skills and backgrounds that come together to solve a complex challenge.
The phrase was made famous by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) in 1970. When a critical module malfunctioned and exploded during the Apollo 13 moon mission, threatening the lives of the astronauts orbiting the moon, the NASA team in Houston quickly deployed a team to develop a solution.
Experts with diverse skill sets and backgrounds came together to form this team. They experimented with several solutions before eventually coming up with a way to bring the astronauts home safely. NASA called them Tiger Team. And so the “Tiger Team” phrase was born.
But Tiger Teams have always been with us.
The Origins of the Tiger
Throughout history, there have been innumerable challenges to human flourishing. Climate disasters, racial injustice, health inequality, and civil rights, to name a few.
But in every age, caring individuals and groups from all backgrounds rise up to face these seemingly insurmountable obstacles and choose boldness over fear.
They embody the spirit of the Tiger Team, which resurfaces every generation in the hearts of those willing to take on unbelievable challenges.
The spirit amplifies each person’s inherently unique powers, encouraging them to be bold.
It’s 2022, the Year of the Tiger, and humanity has no shortage of challenges facing it. More than ever, the world needs more good people from multiple perspectives to come together and do more good.
The spirit of the Tiger Team returns in the Year of the Tiger, looking for the champions of this age to rise up to the challenges of our generation.
A Look Ahead
The Tiger Team roadmap focuses on bringing the most caring doers and creatives together to set the tone and cultural contexts for Web3, NFTs, and Crypto.
We do this by focusing on art and charity.
Art
Creatives come from all cultures worldwide, and they represent the complete spectrum of identities. They can be painters, chefs, scientists, writers, photographers, videographers, storytellers, engineers, activists, philanthropists, lawyers, athletes, and more. But they are all drivers of innovation. They see the world a little bit differently, and that’s what we love about creatives.
Tiger Team aims to spotlight, nurture, and empower a new generation of creatives in the Crypto space, emphasizing undervalued and underrepresented people from diverse backgrounds and identities.
Charity
Charities serve as one of the most important drivers of human flourishing. They excel at identifying solutions, creating a positive impact, and inspiring others to do more good in the world. Naturally, it makes sense for the Tiger Team project to partner with the most effective charities in meaningful ways to further our mission.
Why Now
The saying in the NFT community is that if you’re reading this, you’re early. But what does this mean?
Being early means that we have a tremendous responsibility to set the tone of Crypto’s future and public perception and ensure we do more good than harm in the world.
NFTs, Web3, and the larger Crypto world present a unique opportunity to rethink how we operate in the world in remarkable ways.
Tiger Team aims to tap into this opportunity and nurture an ecosystem of empowered creatives that keep pushing the boundaries of the Crypto space toward greater expanses, creating more value than any single project or brand can do alone. And let’s not forget to have fun while we’re on this journey!
